This is a standalone service and does not obligate you or Carmine Press to any further contract or undertaking.
Our fee is not eligible for any special offers or discounts, and will depend on the length and complexity of the text as well as the level of service required. Text must be supplied in electronic format as a word processing file. If you do not have an electronic copy of your book, we can offer a typing service that will prepare the document to the necessary specifications.
An example of Basic Copy Editing/Proof Reading:
- Correct mistakes in spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Apply consistency of style in spelling, punctuation, hyphenation, capitalisation and presentation
- Check cross-references and numbering of sections, figures, tables, pages, references, footnotes, etc
- Anglicise American spelling (if requested) or vice versa
- Check tables of contents, indices, glossaries and lists for accuracy

Standard Proof Reading includes all of the above, plus:
- Check and correct consistency in use of numerals, abbreviations, lists
- Ensure consistent presentation of artwork, captions, labels, headings and text
- Check that the text does not contradict data in tables and graphs
- Improve overall clarity, readability, fluency and consistency
- Query inconsistencies or incomplete references, eg footnotes and bibliography
